Stompbox Repair Services
$35 Bench Fee + 1 hr. Repair
$20/hr. Repair Rate after 1 hr.
The Repair Process
The repair process is initiated by making a repair inquiry using the Repair Inquiry contact form above. In the form please describe the problem in detail. I will then e-mail you the address of the repair shop so you may send in the defective equipment.
A flat payment of $35 covers troubleshooting, diagnosis, and 1 hour of repair time. This flat payment will be included in the final invoice, which will be sent to you after the troubleshooting and/or repair is complete.
If a diagnosis is found and a repair is feasible the unit will undergo repair. The cost for repair is set to a rate of $20/hr. Again, this rate only applies to repairs lasting more than the initial 1 hour included in the bench fee.
Once the unit has been successfully repaired an invoice will be generated and sent to you via email. I accept payment via Venmo or PayPal. I can accomodate other payment methods (such as cash or Zelle), if needed, but checks are not accepted.
Once payment for the repair is collected the unit is shipped back. A shipping confirmation email with a tracking number will be sent to you, again via email.
For more information on the repair process, please refer to the Terms & Conditions.
If you have any special requests, questions, or concerns during the repair process, feel free to reach out.
Preliminary Troubleshooting
Before sending your guitar pedal into the repair shop, it is important to determine whether your pedal actually needs repair. Most times the symptoms are a result of the following:
- guitar pickup noise
- bad grounding
- loose connections
- wrong power supply
- faulty components
If you cannot figure out the problem then it is time to consider my services.*
* If your pedal is under an existing warranty then it is advised that you consider repair services under that warranty before making an inquiry. Otherwise, please read on about the Repair Process.
Status Checking Etiquette
Please wait at least three (3) weeks from the day I receive the unit to check the status of your repair.
My turnaround is completely determined by the amount of workload I take on at any given time. Lately the turnaround has been 3-4 weeks. I attempt to buffer this by only accepting a limited number of repairs per month.
At times, repairs can take a while to diagnose and troubleshoot. I can only ask for your patience during these times. If that patience runs out, you can always request the device be sent back. Troubleshooting time is not free, and the bench fee and shipping costs will need to be collected before shipping the unit back at your request.
